Fall is the time for families to gather.
With summer coming to a close, cooler temperatures and back to school routines have this designer/mama thinking about meals with my family. Nourishing soups and warm casseroles take the place of salad. Some of my favorite times are spent at the dining table with the people I love the most. That is why, for me, it is worth investing in a dining room that is beautiful, comfortable, and of quality.
Here are 5 tips to help you design a dining room you love!

When it comes to dining pieces, think long term.
A quality dining set is an investment, that should last your family 15 years +. Choose a style that is timeless vs. trendy. We love solid wood tables rich with organic beauty. Leafs are a great option to offer flexible sizing to accommodate larger families during the holidays, yet fit a standard dining room during the majority of the year. Dining rooms should never be an impulse buy, or a compromise because a set is being sold at a great price. Save and invest in pieces that add to your happiness and quality of life. Go bigger when incorporating a dining room rug. When possible, rugs should be large enough to fully pull out your dining chair without any interaction with the rug edge. There is nothing more frustrating than a chair that constantly catches the edge of a rug. Be mindful of rug thickness as well for a smooth and easy glide.
